The Foundation publishes annually the scientific journals Flora Mediterranea, Borziana and Bocconea. These journals include papers dealing with the study of biogeography, floristics and systematic botany in the Mediterranean area.

The Foundation Encourags the training of young scholars, providing them with grants to visit Palermo and study the Herbarium Mediterraneum collections.

Proceedings of directly promoted events

In 2019 the Foundation has supported scientifically, logistically and financially the event Socotra in Sicily organized by the Friends of Soqotra association (FoS) and held in Palermo from 26 to 29 September 2019. The proceeding of this event are available here.

Other activities

In 2023 the Foundation has supported scientifically, logistically and financially the XVII Meeting of OPTIMA held in Erice (Italy) from 20 to 23 September. At that meeting, which included 11 symposia with 76 communications and 37 posters, attended 162 delegates from 26 different countries.

In 2013 the Foundation has supported scientifically, logistically and financially the XIV Meeting of OPTIMA held in Palermo (Italy) from 9 to 15 September. At that meeting, which included 16 symposia with 79 communications and 68 posters, attended 176 delegates from 28 different countries.
